The Sonny Jacket from Tilly and the Buttons is a multi-version jacket that can be made up either utility style with a classic collar or with a fun and on-trend frilled prairie collar.
The jacket has a boxy fit with drop shoulders. It is gently shaped at the bust with princess seams. With collar choices, either hip or cropped-length hems and optional chest pockets this has great options for making it your own.
Separate yokes, forward shoulder seams, front panels, easy-to-sew straight sleeves and mock flast felled seams make this a great introduction to sewing outerwear.

Fabric Recommendations: Medium to heavy weight woven fabric such as denim, twill, canvas, corduroy, jacquard or wool. If you are making the frilled collar version make sure the fabric is light enough to be gathered once folded into two layers. If it isn’t you can always use a different fabric for the frill.
Other Supplies: Matching thread, 0.9m of interfacing, 5-6 15mm buttons.
