Dressmaking Technique: Shirts and Blouses

Entry Level: You will need to have completed one of our ‘Start Dressmaking’ courses or have similar sewing experience.

Tutor: Terry Baker
An excellent follow on class from ‘Start Dressmaking’, this session focuses on some of the common techniques associated with making blouses and shirts. Gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience in: Setting in a sleeve; Creating a cuff; Creating a collar.
Students are welcome to either bring their own machines (bring your manual too!) or use the Backstitch machines for free.

All our classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. We urge you to carefully check your diary prior to booking to ensure that you can attend. We also need three students enrolled on the class otherwise it is subject to cancellation. By purchasing this class you are agreeing to our full class policy.
Class Materials and Equipment
Most materials for this class are included in the price, but you will need to bring the following:
Machine: You ideally will have your own working sewing machine to bring with you (bring the manual too if you have one). You will also need a zip foot for your machine. We do have a limited number of shop machines that can be borrowed. These need to be booked in advance.
Thread: 1 x 100m spool of Gutermann Sew All or similar thread.
Haberdashery: You may find it useful to bring your own scissors, tape measure, pins and chalk, although we will have these to borrow, and please do bring a notepad and pen.
