Dressmaking: Sew with Jersey And Make A T-Shirt
1 x 5.5 hr Session
Class Length: 1 session of 5.5 hours, including a half hour lunch break*

Entry Level: You will need to have completed one of our ‘Sewing Machine Basics’ courses or have similar experience with a machine. This means you must be able to thread the machine on your own, wind a bobbin, and go forwards and backwards with straight stitch.
Materials: Pattern only included. Other materials will need to be purchased ahead of the class. Please see below.

Do you love wearing jersey, but dread sewing with it? Sewing with knit fabric is another fab string to add to your dressmaking bow! Overcome your fears and make yourself a t-shirt to prove it. We walk you through how to sew with knit fabrics using a regular sewing machine, the challenges that may arise, and how to overcome these. You will also gain great experience in reading a sewing pattern and working with pdf patterns.

All our classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. We urge you to carefully check your diary prior to booking to ensure that you can attend. We also need three students enrolled on the class otherwise it is subject to cancellation. By purchasing this class you are agreeing to our full class policy.
Class Materials and Equipment
A PDF Liesl & Co Metro Tee (Mens, Womens) or Oliver+S School Bus Tee (Kids) is included in the class price. All other materials are not included and you will need to bring the following with you:
Machine: You will have your own working sewing machine to bring with you. We do have a limited number of shop machines that can be borrowed. These need to be booked in advance.
Fabric: Up to 1.5m of cotton jersey (please see pattern page (Mens, Womens, Kids) for details) MAKE SURE YOUR FABRIC IS LAUNDERED BEFORE THE CLASS!
Other supplies: 1 x 100m spool of Gutermann Sew All or similar thread.
Haberdashery: You may find it useful to bring your own scissors, tape measure, pins and chalk, although we will have these to borrow, and please do bring a notepad and pen.
*You will need to bring a packed lunch, or you can buy some lunch from The Larder here on the Burwash site.
