Quilt Basics: Simple Jelly Roll Quilt

Entry Level: You will need to have completed one of our ‘Sewing Machine Basics’ courses or have similar experience with a machine. This means you must be able to thread the machine on your own, wind a bobbin, and go forwards and backwards with straight stitch.

Tutor: Jemma Dell
Get started quilting! This class is a great introduction to quilting and a great introduction to using precuts. A 'Jelly Roll' is a type of 'precut' with 40 strips of ready-cut fabric, 2.5" by 44". You will be able to complete the whole quilt top during this class, using a super simple and fast method of sewing together your Jelly Roll.

All our classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. We urge you to carefully check your diary prior to booking to ensure that you can attend. We also need three students enrolled on the class otherwise it is subject to cancellation. By purchasing this class you are agreeing to our full class policy.
Class Materials and Equipment
Materials are not included in the price. Please see list of materials below. It is your responsibility to prepare your materials so that you are ready to learn when the class starts. You may want to come into the shop in the days before the class and our staff will help you get together everything that you will need. Please be aware that you may not wish to purchase class materials until the minimum class number of three students has been reached.
Machine: You will need to bring your own working sewing machine (bring the manual too if you have one). We do have a limited number of shop machines that can be borrowed. These need to be booked in advance.
Fabric: 1 x Jelly Roll
Thread: 1 x reel of piecing thread. We recommend 50wt Aurifil cotton.
Haberdashery: You may find it useful to bring your own scissors, tape measure, pins and chalk, although we will have these to borrow.
