Moon Pants are quick and easy to sew, featuring a basic elastic waistband and elastic cuffs, with extra options including crescent moon-shaped pockets and a flat cuff over a gathered hem.
Moon Pants work really well in light or flowy woven fabrics as a harem-style pant for the warmer months. In cooler weather, Moon Pants make a perfect pair of sweats or knit pants when sewn out of heavier knits.
View A of this pattern is appropriate for beginners, while View B falls into the "intermediate" category. If you're new to sewing, start with View A, then challenge yourself with flat cuffs and pockets on your next pair!

Woven fabrics: lightweight, drapey fabrics such as linen, double gauze, shirting, rayon, or voile.
Knit fabrics: medium- to heavy-weight knits with less than 50% stretch, such as sweatshirt fleece, interlock, or jersey.
