Believe it or not this quilt was started as part of the Spinning Stars Quilt Along. However, as I am a fully signed up member of the Slow-Quilt Movement (is there such a thing?) I never so much quilt 'along' as quilt 'a while after'. And then once the thing is 'slow-quilted' it then takes a while for it to be 'slow-blogged' (now that definitely is a thing). Sleeping Under Stars and Moons
There's nothing quite like the arrival of a new baby to get me panic sewing, and to hear that my dear friends had had their baby, rather alarmingly, on the living room carpet (and almost on the drive) got me to that machine quicker than you can say 'clean towels and hot water'. Continue reading → -
A Linen Quilt
Back in August I made a quilt. It was, and still remains, my most favourite thing that I have ever made. It was a square lap quilt of half square triangles using the Linen/Cotton Blend fabric that I have in the shop. The tones of these linens are just so wonderful that as soon as I saw a fat quarter stack of them I knew that I had to make a solids only quilt with them. Continue reading →
