During September Liesl + Co released four new digital patterns and now at Backstitch we have them up on the site ready for download. They are a great selection of styles that comprise of a casual tee, a smart dress, a casual dress and a pair of versatile culottes... we love culottes!
The Bento Tee is a funky boxy sweater tee with a dropped shoulder, slight kimono sleeve and wider neckline. There are three different sleeve options: long, three-quarter, and short with a cuff. The tee allows for some fun with fabric as, in addition to an un-seamed front and back, it can be sewn with a horizontal seam that hides two pockets - reminiscent of the Merchant and Mills Top 64.
The Cinema Dress is a grown up version of the Hide and Seek dress. We love it when Liesl goes grown up on an Oliver+S style... proves we all hanker after the Oliver+S girls dresses! This dress has a gorgeous yoke and gather detail and looks super comfortable. There is a long and shorter option. I think a shorter version of this in linen worn over jeans would look really great.
The Bistro Dress is a take on the classic sheath dress. It includes a belt and loops so that you can cinch in the waist, you can make it long or short sleeved, choose between a notched neckline or a Peter Pan collar, lined or unlined - so many options! Liesl has also included detailed instructions for a full bust adjustment (FBA) which is such a good idea as I know that many people struggle with getting the fit right in this area.
And finally, there is the Girl Friday Culottes. Now these culottes are awesome chic. More like a classic full skirt, this pattern features hidden side pockets, a hidden zipper, flattering back darts and pleats which cleverly hide the culotte rise and enforcing the skirt trick... magic!
