It took me a while to come around to the idea of making a Christmas quilt. I don't know why it took me so long. But I suddenly got it... a quilt that you keep in the Christmas box, that comes out every year, specifically for snuggling under on the sofa during the festive period. Speedy Jelly Roll Quilt, and a Class to Match!
Last week I finished a quilt. Astonishing I know! I completed the top for this ages ago, and even had the top hanging in the shop for a while last year. The idea was to demonstrate to customers two groovy things... 1) actually how much fabric you get on a jelly roll, and 2) how quickly and simply you can sew one together. And since then we also realised it would make a great class. Charity Auction: Bid For This Quilt
This disappearing nine patch quilt is currently hanging in our Burwash Manor shop. We have donated the quilt to the Cambridge Calais Refugee Action Group and the Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign who are working together on a fundraising event taking place on Friday 15th April 2016 in the Guildhall in Cambridge.
