Merchant and Mills Dress Shirt
Merchant and Mills patterns are great. This is now the second one that I have made. I don't make many clothes (it's a time thing), but this Dress Shirt is the second Merchant and Mills pattern that I've gone for. I think it is the wear-ability of the patterns. Popover Poncho Love (and Coating Fabric in Sale)
This Christmas I actually finished all my gift makes in reasonable time (the first miracle) and was relaxed enough to sneak in some sewing for fun (the second miracle). I opted for the new April Rhodes pattern, The Popover Poncho. It was the perfect choice. Such a quick and simple pattern, a really joy to sew. A Kelly Skirt in Stripy Linen
I made this skirt back at the end of July... oh my word is it October already? It was a really fun quick make and I have had a lot of wear out of it. The pattern is the Kelly Skirt from Megan Nielsen. We only have this available as a pdf download - I am occasionally badgering Megan to start printing again! I made it up in some of this lush stripy linen mix fabric, and made covered buttons and the pocket liners out of fat quarter of Silver Lining cloud fabric... a great match. Continue reading → -
A Colette Myrtle Dress
Have you guys seen the new Colette pattern? The Myrtle Dress is the third pattern in their recent 'Sewing Knits' series after the Mabel and the Moneta, both of which have been received very well. I was immediately drawn to the Myrtle due to it's gorgeous drapey neckline and it's looser fit. And, the idea that it could be made in a woven fabric too really appealed.
