Duxford Quilt Festival: The Lowdown
We did it! It was a lot of work but also a whole lot of fun. On the 6th, 7th and 8th of March, you could find Backstitch not only at our Burwash Manor shop just outside Cambridge, but also two junctions down the M11 at the Imperial War Museum where we had a stand as part of the Duxford Spring Quilt Festival. Great British Sewing Bee - Waistcoat Love
Oh, now, I was quite excited this evening when watching the Great British Sewing Bee - Waistcoats! Yay! Just before Christmas I made my two small boys matching waistcoats. I wanted to use some of these lush lambskin fleece for the lining and gave them a choice of suitable outer fabrics from my personal stash (including some very tasteful plaid etc) and both boys chose the red canvas which gave their waistcoats a rather festive feel, but boy are they snuggly.
