I've been doing much more knitting than sewing of late. It's all this squishy yarn that has come into the shop - gone and got me all inspired to knit! I've had the 'Paris Toujours' by Isabell Kraemer in my Ravelry queue for ages (you can find me on Ravelry here, and Backstitch here).
It was designed to be knit up in a DK or a Fingering weight yarn, but I rather liked the look of the heavier more blankety versions so used a worsted weight. I used the Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted in colour 112 Moonstone. Grey, in hindsight, is a rather boring choice, but it does go with everything and I take some pursuading out of my blue black grey palette!
The pattern was well written and once I had got past the first 20 rows or so (I frogged a number of times at the start and ended up writing each row out and ticking it off as I kept getting lost), the lace sequence was easy to remember.
I've been wearing the shawl a lot, and only recently since the weather has been warming up have I stopped wearing it so much. I think it would work really well in a cotton and am planning to knit up a lighter cotton version in this Sirdar DK for summer.
